Participatory Economics – From Inequality to a Democratic and Ecological Economy

Saturday 16-18 (classroom 35)

There are compelling reasons to believe there is an unhealthy growth imperative inherent in private enterprise market systems that threatens the environment. In addition, the world is experiencing an unprecedented rise of inequality between as well as within different countries. What would be some of the desirable reforms to open pathways to solving these problems? How could those reforms help create a basis for longer term solutions for a free society with ecological and democratic economy?

A joint session with Parecon Sverige and Parecon Finland, with speakers Anders Sandström from Parecon Sverige and Antti Jauhiainen, Joona-Hermanni Mäkinen from Parecon Finland.
